About Me

I wear many hats—probably too many—but after eight years in the industry, that’s the nature of the game.

I’m a trained contemporary dancer with an MA in Dance Performance from The Northern School of Contemporary Dance. These days, I juggle roles as a Dance Lecturer, Producer, Choreographer, and Director in the North West. I also co-direct Night People, a cross-collaborative performance company where contemporary cabaret collides with visual art, film, and sound design. This isn’t just a project—it’s a business my collaborator and I built from scratch over the last eight years, shaping its practice, methodology, and brand from the ground up.

Beyond that, I’ve worked in corporate arts organisations, producing large-scale festivals, education programs, and youth initiatives for young dancers in the North West. I’ve always freelanced, dipping into movement direction for music videos and film, guest lecturing at universities, teaching across a diverse range of institutions, and performing in contemporary work and research projects.

I love wearing multiple hats, diversifying my career, and immersing myself in different perspectives and organisations. But through it all, two questions have shaped my path:

🔹 How do we make things happen?
🔹 How do we create real change in the sector?

Every role I’ve taken on has revolved around helping others, bringing new work to audiences and communities, and building fresh ideas, initiatives, and events from the ground up. This is why leadership, governance, and strong arts policy aren’t just interests—they’re the driving force behind my work.

As a female-identifying artist in the North of England, the need for strong leadership and better governance has only become louder in my practice. Recognising challenges, navigating uncertainty, and creating solutions isn’t just my career—it’s the reality for so many artists and freelancers. That’s why I’m diving into this research: to understand, to challenge, and to make a difference..
